Within two full weeks the summer school participants will have the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of Russia in the Eurasian space, analyzing it from historical and contemporary, theoretical and practical perspectives.

The students will be engaged in thoughtful discussions with Russian and Post Soviet studies experts gathered in St. Petersburg and visit landmarks of special significance to Russia’s past and present.

Programme Structure
2 weeks of daily language classes and classes with professors on history, politics, culture of Russia at the European University.
The programme will also let the students enjoy their vacations gathering unforgettable memories and inspiration. Explore various museums and cultural spaces, cultural capital environment, travel by boat around the city, and fall in love with the "Northern Venice".

About the EUSP
Founded in 1994 with the active support of the city of St. Petersburg, the European University began operating as an elite graduate school in the social sciences and humanities in 1996. From its inception, the mission of EUSP has been to meet the needs of Russian social development by training a new generation of teachers and scholars in the best Russian and Western traditions.

The European University is one of only a few non-state universities fully qualified by the Ministry of Education to award advanced graduate degrees. Over the 30 years, EUSP has gained an international reputation for the superb scholarship of its faculty and the training of Russia’s best and brightest graduate students at the highest international levels.

Leading scholars from diverse academic disciplines will discuss the multifaceted nature of the Eurasian space within an interdisciplinary framework, covering topics such as the origins of Russian nationhood and statehood, critical phases in Russian state history, historical shifts and political legacies of the Eurasian region, the intricate realities of Russia’s neighboring areas, and key issues influencing current Eurasian tensions from an interdisciplinary perspective
